Last updated: March 17, 2026

1. Introduction

CogniTwin Education (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our users, especially students preparing for competitive examinations. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. By using CogniTwin, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

  • Account Information: Name, email address, target exam year, preferred subjects
  • Rough Work: Handwritten solutions and diagrams you draw on the canvas during practice sessions
  • Feedback & Contact: Messages you send through our contact form

2.2 Information Generated During Use

  • Learning Data: Question responses, time spent per question, accuracy patterns, topic-wise performance
  • Cognitive Profile: Your learning DNA — conceptual depth, pressure handling, and thinking pattern scores generated by our adaptive engine
  • Analytics: Thinking Evolution Reports, exam-readiness scores, and error-pattern analysis

2.3 Technical Information

  • Browser type, device type, and screen resolution (for optimizing your experience)
  • IP address (for security and abuse prevention)

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Personalization: To build your cognitive profile and deliver adaptive questions matched to your specific weaknesses
  • Rough Work Analysis: To analyze your thinking process and provide step-by-step feedback on where your approach went wrong
  • Progress Tracking: To generate Thinking Evolution Reports and exam-readiness scores
  • Platform Improvement: To improve our AI models, question quality, and user experience using anonymized, aggregated data
  • Communication: To send important updates about your account or the Platform

4. AI Processing & Rough Work Images

Your rough work images are processed by our AI system to provide real-time feedback on your problem-solving approach. Here's what you should know:

  • Rough work images are sent securely to our AI processing pipeline for analysis
  • Images are used solely for educational feedback — never for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties
  • Aggregated, anonymized patterns (e.g., “students commonly make sign errors in Rotation problems”) may be used to improve our question bank and teaching methodology
  • You can request deletion of all your rough work images at any time

5. Data Sharing

We do NOT:

  • Sell your personal data or learning data to any third party
  • Share your individual performance data with coaching institutes, schools, or other students
  • Use your data for targeted advertising

We may share data only in these cases:

  • Service Providers: Cloud hosting and AI processing providers who are contractually bound to protect your data
  • Legal Requirements: When required by Indian law or valid legal process
  • Anonymized Research: Aggregated, de-identified data for educational research purposes

6. Data Security

  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption)
  • Passwords are hashed using bcrypt — we never store plain-text passwords
  • Database access is restricted and protected behind firewall rules
  • Regular security audits and updates are performed on our infrastructure
  • Admin access uses separate authentication with elevated security controls

7. Data Retention

Active Accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active to provide the adaptive learning experience.

Account Deletion: You may request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing support@cognitwinedu.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

Inactive Accounts: Accounts inactive for more than 24 months may be flagged for data cleanup. We will notify you via email before any deletion.

8. Your Rights

Under applicable Indian data protection laws, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Data Portability: Request an export of your learning data in a standard format
  • Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for data processing (this may limit Platform functionality)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@cognitwinedu.com.

9. Children's Privacy

CogniTwin is designed for students preparing for competitive exams, which may include users under 18 years of age. We collect only the minimum data necessary for the educational service. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data without consent, please contact us to request deletion.

10. Cookies & Local Storage

CogniTwin uses essential cookies and browser local storage to maintain your login session and store preferences. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. No data is shared with ad networks.
